The Northern Regional Police Command have arrested Abdallah Yakubu with 12 goats and 3 sheep on 24 July 2020 at 0400 hours.
He I believe to be a member of animal sterling syndicates in the region. The suspect was arrested while in a sprinter Mercedes Benz mini bus which was carrying the animals.
The suspect together with his accomplice, Alidu Abdullai alias Burger, who is on the run, were using a Toyota Corolla salon car to escort the animals. The Corolla salon has also been seized by the police.
Northern Regional Crime Officer, Superintendent Kwabena Otou Acheampong disclosed to the media said Saturday explained that the arrest was effected upon intelligence received that the Mercedes Benz was carrying stolen animals on the Kamina road.
The suspects he said were given a hot chase in the Corolla and the police had to immobilize the tyres, leading to his arrest. However, Alidu alias Burger managed to escape and is been sought by police.
The Command is therefore calling on persons living around Kamina Road who have lost their animals, to come to the regional headquarters to identify the animals and aslo assist with the investigation.
