The Women’s Organizer for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Savannah region, Hajia Safia Mohmmed has wooed the women groups in the region to vigorously propagate the good works of the NPP government to Gonjas after the failed promises of their own brother and kinsman.
She also asked them to take the forefront to campaign to justify the creation of the Savannah region by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo in the upcoming general elections.
Addressing various women’s groups at separate gatherings in the Damongo constituency in what is dubbed as “Operation Add Your Vote to NPP”, Hajia Safia appealed to them to serve as campaign managers to retain the president Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo and vote massively for the NPP Parliamentary candidate, Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor as a member of parliament for area.
The move by the Women’s Organizer is to increase the number of votes of the New Patriotic Party and possibly win more seat in the newly carved region.
This to her is part of her strategic plan to get the buy in of women in the region to appreciate the monumental developmental projects of the Nana Addo led government in the country as a whole and the Savannah region in particular.
According to her, “this year’s general election is not about a vote for a brother who takes advantage of your relations to deprive you from what is due you and continually keeps you in poverty, and underdevelopment but rather a vote for a distant brother from Kyebi who can leverage you from poverty, provide you with basic amenities, empowerment as well as and self-reliance”.
She also told women to choose between a close brother who will come to worsen their plights and a distant brother who will leverage them from paying school fees, create jobs for the youth, reinstating both teacher and nurses training allowances for their children in the teacher and nursing training colleges, among others.
The Savannah Women’s Organizer of the NPP cataloged the numerous social intervention prgrammes such as Free SHS, Planting for Food and Jobs, 1D1F, 1 constituency 1 Ambulance, 1 constituency 1 million dollars, NABCo and other jobs in the civil service, the free water and electricity for lifeline consumers, the creation of the savannah and its attendant socio-economic and infrastructural development dotted across the savannah region among others as a justification by Gonjas to retain the NPP in power.
She said the era where parents were reluctant to invest into their ward’s education because of the fear of they not being employed after graduating is becoming a thing of the past since majority of young graduates have been engaged as a result of the initiatives by the president to end unemployment in the country.
Hajia Safia during the engagement with the NPP women’s groups donated liquid soaps, branded nose masks, T-shirts and other party paraphernalia to the groups within the Damongo constituency.
