COVID 19: “We the People Matter Movement” supports people on the streets of Tamale
The fight against COVID 19 is a collective responsibility and need all hands on deck to win it. In view of that, the well to do in society, government and civil society organizations continue to support the vulnerable in society towards the fight of the deadly virus.
Latest to join the support mission in Northern region is “WE THE PEOPLE MATTER MOVEMENT”. WE THE PEOPLE MATTER MOVEMENT is an advocacy group focused on deepening governance in the country. The movement at the weekend distributed face masks and other protective equipment to market women, yellow yellow drivers, motor king drivers as well as pedestrians on the streets of Tamale to help in the fight against the global pandemic.
Speaking on behalf of the Executive Director of the movement, Dr. sa-ad Iddrisu, the Northern regional representative, Ramatu Abdulai said it was the movement’s own way of supporting vulnerable in society. She noted that, it was necessary that, the movement give out the little it has to also support since the fight against the virus needs a collective effort.
Miss Ramatu and her team after the distribution also took time to educate people on the streets about the virus and urge them to continue to observe the preventive measures to keep them safe from the virus.
