Diyali Lana donates 20,000 to Dagbon development fun, urges people to contribute

Paramount Chief of Diyali traditional area, Diyali lana Abdulai Abukari II has donated 20,000 Ghana cedis to the Dagbon Development Fund through fund raising Committee.

The amount is the chief’s personal support to the construction of the new Gbewaa palace. 

At the Diyali lana palace on Saturday, Nayab Diyali Lana said his 20,000 contribution was to encouraged the people in his traditional area to contribute towards the palace construction. 

His traditional is yet to collect 8He said though most of his subjects have made the households contributions, he expects every household including shop owners within the area to contribute more than any other traditional area.  

Dagbon, Nayab Diyali Lana said was fighting two battles: to ensure lasting peace by getting a substantive Ya-Na and a befitting Gbewaa palace.  Constructing a befitting palace, he said is what every proud Dagomba should be interested in and contribute to ensure that the project is executed.

A member of the fund-raising committee Mr Abukari Nuhu who issued receipt to Naa Yab Diyali Lana urged landlords and landladies to contribute 50 cedis every six to the fund for the project.

Chairman of education subcommittee of the Dagbon Development Committee, Alhaji Mohammed Haroon Cambodia assured the public that all contributions are paid into the fund accounts and neither him or Mr Nuhu have access to the accounts.

The only people with access to the accounts he explained are the revered chiefs, Naa Yab Kug Naa, chief of Kumbungu, chief of Tolon Naa, and chief Karaga who are signatories to the accounts.
