The Overlord of Dagbon, Ndan Ya-Naa Abukari II has inspected the construction site of resettlement of houses to be affected by the New Gbewaa Palace Project. The houses which are at various stages of completion when completed will pave way for the construction of new palace.
Ndan Ya-Naa was accompanied by Members of the Dagbon Redevelopment Committee including Naa Yab Kug Naa who is the Chairman of the committee, Chairman of the Fund-Raising Sub-Committee, Naa-Bapre Pishigu Lana Alhassan Andani, among other members.
Ndan Ya-Naa expressed satisfaction about the progress of work and hoped it will be completed after this year’s Damba festival celebration. He urged sons and daughters of Dagbon to show their loyalty to the kingdom by donating towards their palace construction.
The Chairman of the Fund-Raising Sub-Committee Naa-Bapre Pishigu Lana Alhassan Andani said the Dagbon development plan is not only focusing on the Gbewaa place but also on education, agriculture and health.
Given the update of donations received so far, Naa-Bapre Pishigu Lana announced that the committee has received an amount GHC 2.8million so far from sons and daughters, development partners and well-wishers.
