Gushe Naa cautions political parties against violence as he receives copy of vigilantism law

The Paramount Chief of Gushegu traditional area, Naa Yab Gushe Na Abdulai Mahamudu Shitobu has cautioned the two major political parties (NPP & NDC) to let peace prevail in this year’s election.

The chief   advised the leadership of the 2 parties to eschew all forms of violence before, during and after this year’s election in his traditional area.

The chief gave the cautioned when he received a copy of vigilantism and related offences act (999), 2019 from the national commission for Civic Education (NCCE).

The NCCE regional Director, Alhaji Abdul Razak Saani presented the copy of the act to some 16 Paramount chiefs in Northern and North East Regions under NORSAAC ‘Decent Election project’ funded by Star Ghana Foundation.

The Gushe Na said his palace has been calling for decent and violence free camping among all political parties and that he expect the leadership of parties to carry out their campaigns devoid of rancor and acrimony.

The Gushe Na assured that his divisional chief will be sensitized on the law.

The chief described as unfortunate past political violence in the area and promised that the palace will liaise with assembly members and party chairmen for the need for peace.

The Gushe Na used the opportunity to appeal to government for adequate supply of drugs.

According to the chief, his people are going through a lot difficulty in getting prescribed drugs because the Municipal hospital run shot drugs.
The Gushe Na expressed worried about faulty hospital’s mortuary.

Secretary to Naa Yab Gushe Na, Mr Abukari Amadu told zaa news the Gushe Na epitomized peace and will do his best to ensure peace in Gushegu.
Our chief is a peace man who doesn’t like violence.

The palace he assured, will soon invite all political parties’ leadership, divisional and sub-chiefs.
