The Ghana Police Service has placed a Ghc10,000 bounty on the heads of killers of a female police at a snap check duty point on the Kumbungu road in Tamale on Wedneday.
According to police reports, the victim was shot when she tried to stop some occupants of a saloon car believed to be armed robbers.
The attackers stole a weapon belonging to the deceased and one other officer who fell in an attempt to take cover.
Narrating the incident in a statement, the Police said: “At about 10:45 pm on Tuesday, 30 July 2019 occupants of a salon car all of them believed to be armed robbers dressed in military-like uniforms, failed to obey the signal of police officers at a snap check point on the Kumbungu road in Tamale.
Instead, they shot and killed a female police officer who signaled them to stop, after which they bolted”.
The police has beef up security in Tamale with additional personnel from Accra to support in the investigations.
