Sagnarigu Municipal Education Director, Mr Alhassan Alidu junior, has commended the paramount Chief of Sagnarigu traditional area for his love and commitment in ensuring that young girls in within his jurisdiction were educated.
The municipal education director expressed gratitude to the paramount Chief for Sagnarigu traditional area, Ambassador Yakubu Abdulai for his contributions towards education within the municipality.
The chief, Mr Alhassan Junior said allocated land for the construction of both the primary and JHS girls model schools and also provided GHC 20,000 to kick start the school.
The first batch of the JHS he said scored in 2021 Basic Education Certificate Examination. He appealed for the school land to be fence to secure the land.
He appealed to the assembly to ensure that the land area of the school is fence.
Municipal Chief Executive for Sagnarigu, Mr Mohammed Ahmed Yakubu whose massage was read on his behalf said the support will go a long way to complementing the government effort in providing decent educational infrastructure within the municipality.
The assembly he explained earmarks about 50% of its resources on education. He assured that the assembly will do it’s best to ensure that land given by the chief for the school is secure.
The Sagnarigu Tamal Naa Fuseini Mohammed, on behalf of Na Bapri Sagnar Na emphasized the need for parents to invest in their children education. He was not happy that despite evidence of girl child education, some parents still pay lip service to education.
