Police in the northern region have arrested a man believed to be dealing in human skull in Tamale. He was arrested at Dagbandabi Fong in Tamale on Tuesday.
His arrest follows the earlier arrest of one Mohammed Sumani, a resident of Parishe on Thursday 21 September, 2023. Mohammed Sumani was arrested at Vitin by community members for possessing a human skull.
He was handed over to the police after confessing that he deals in human parts for about a year now.
During interrogation by community members at the Vitin chief palace, the suspect admitted that the skull he sold the skull to his accomplice at GHC 20. He was charged 300 cedis with a ram to appease the land.
On Tuesday, 26 September, 2023 the buyer of the skull Mohammed Sumani, was arrested at his hideout. He has been speaking to the media.
Assemblyman for the Vitin electoral area, Alhassan Ziblim who confirmed the arrest to Zaa News explained that Mr Sumani exhumed the skull outside the community cemetery.
The three suspects made their first appearance in court Wednesday September 26,2023 at the Tamale district court. They have been remanded into police custody and will reappear on 21st October 2023.
