Six of the ten COVID 19 patients in Tamale now tested negative

The Northern regional health Directorate has revealed that, nine of the foreigners in Tamale who tested positive for COVID 19 has now tested negative after treatment. Three of them still remain positive of the virus.

Addressing the media in Tamale, the Northern regional health Director, Dr. John Eleeza noted that, samples of the patients were sent for testing to know their status after placing them on treatment. Second samples have been sent again for testing pending results.

Meanwhile, efforts by the regional COVID 19 team to relocate the six who have now tested positive proved futile as they have refused to be moved out of the current quarantine facility. Security however is still on a search for one of the patients (a lady) who escaped from quarantine.

As of Wednesday, April 15, 2020, the Northern region had a total of 274 suspected cases out of which the 10 cases were recorded.
