Mr Yakubu Osman, a prime suspect in the Gushegu alleged witchcraft accusation case has been granted GHC 10,000 bail by the Yendi circuit court on Tuesday November 7, 2023 with two sureties, one to be justified.
The 22 years old Osman was arrested together three others, Asulo Ayishetu Tia, Suale and Aminu on October 15, 2023 and charged for uttering certain abusive words to wit, “you are a witch’’ to the annoyance of Sumani Neina with intent to provoke breach of the peace or whereby a breach of the peace was likely to be occasioned.
Three suspects, whose names were only given as Tia, Suale and Aminu are still at large. The allegedly subjected a 50-year-old Sumani Neina to inhumane treatment over allegations of being a witch.
