We are ready to host 62ND independence celebration-N/R Minister

The seat of government, the Jubilee houses is expected to be relocated to the northern regional capital Tamale by 5th to 6th March, the Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed has said.

Only skeletal staff are expected to be the presidency during the period, minister Saeed has said.

The leadership of Ghana’s parliament, former presidents and diplomatic corps will be in the region in their numbers.

According to the minister, this is the first time the celebration of independence celebration is being relocated to the north in the history of Ghana which he said is remarkable.

Speaking to the media at the Alhaji Aliu Mahama after the national planning committee of 62ND independence celebration, Mr Saeed said the region is more than ready to thost the event.

The minister on behalf of the people of the region commend the president for his decision to relocate the celebration of this year’s independence to Tamale.

Mr Saeed says even though he has no answers to the many question opinion leaders and some chiefs asked, he suspect is because the region is overcoming all the chieftaincy related disputes.

The minister also pleaded with the media to focus on the potentials of the region to the diplomatic community who will be in attendance.

The president, Mr Saeed was not juts working to ensure that unresolved chieftaincy and land disputes to ensure the region is ready for investment.
