The Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) for Tamale, Iddrisu Musah Superior has advised Persons With Disability (PWDs) not to shy away from participating in partisan politics.

The Tamale MCE encourage them to join political parties of their interest and contest elections in their respective areas.

He reminded the PWDs that the constitution gives everybody equal opportunity to contest elections whether able or disable.

The Tamale MCE believes the only thing that can sharpen the lives of people in the current democratic dispensation is politics.

Mr Superior was addressing PWDs aspirants and women aspirants in the December 17th district level elections at a Town Hall meeting organized by Henry Djaba Foundation to mark this year’s   International Day of Persons with Disability.

The Tamale MCE also encouraged PWDs not to be bothered about their current conditions because every able person is a potential disable.

Mr Superior cited the former minister of chieftaincy, Dr Seidu Danaa as one of the role models PWDs should emulate and pursue their ambitions.

He asked PWDs to make themselves available at the assembly, since it is the only way the assembly will be able to know and provide assistance to.
