The late Hajia Abiba Nnaba, mother of the President of Republic of Ghana, H.E John Dramani was laid to rest on Friday at Busunu in the West Gonja District of the northern region.
Hajia Nnaba died on Tuesday at SSNIT hospital in Accra after a protracted illness. She is survived by six children including the president.
The mortal remains was flown to Busunu by military helicopter for the burial. This followed strong opposition by the chief of Busunu who is also the younger brother of the deceased that she shouldn’t be buried at Bole, the president’s father E.A Mahama’s hometown because the the late E.A Mahama divorced Hajia Abiba.
The disagreement delayed the Islamic burial ceremony.
