Thirty parliamentary aspirants are vying for the four seats in the Tamale metropolis. The four seats include Tamale south, Tamale North, Tamale Central and the newly created Sagnarigu constituencies.
The minister of communication and MP for Tamale South Iddrisu Haruna, Alhaji A.B. Fuseini for Sagnarigu, Deputy minister of Energy, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini and Dr. Abdel-Naser Adam, the independent candidate for Tamale north.
Dr Abdle-Naser Adam and the NPP candidate for Sagnarigu, Sheik Yakubu Abdul-Karim all fielded their nomination at the Tamale metro directorate of the electoral commission to contest the 2012 elections.
The nomination fee for each parliamentary aspirant has risen from 5,000 Ghana cedis in 2008 to 10,000 Ghana cedis this year.
The Deputy Minister of Energy and Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini has stated that the battle has been drawn for the 2012 elections.
He said the NDC is poised to winning the 2012 elections both presidential and parliamentary come December 7.
Alhaji Inusah Fuseini fielded his nomination to contest the Tamale Central seat for the second time after winning the by-elections in 2006 when the then member of parliament for Tamale central, Professor Wayo Saani cross-carpeted to then ruling NPP.
The independent candidate for the Tamale North Constituency, Dr. Abdel-Naser Adam told Zaa News that the Tamale North constituency has been in the bottom of under developed and need someone with good leadership to leverage it from its current deprivation. ]]>
