GOtv launch in the northern region


GOtv Ghana limited, a sister company to MultiChoice Ghana limited has rolled out its services to the northern region using the latest generation Digital Video Broadcast (DBV-T2).

GOtv has the greatest selection of channels made in Africa for Africa as well as international channels from low as 15 Ghana cedis per month.

GOtv plus has a total of 33 channels and GOtv with 19 world –class local and international channels. Residents in Tamale can now enjoy quality digital entertainment from GOtv more value to Ghanaian television lovers at the new offer price 11 Ghana cedis. 

GOtv is the first to operator launch a DVB-T2 digital pay TV service. Tamale according to operators of GOtv represents one of the most advanced DTT broadcast systems and infrastructure established, not only in Ghana or Africa but the rest of the world.

Its new price was unveiled at the official launch of GOtv services in Tamale by GOtv director, Cecil Sunkwa-Mills.

The 2 million US dollar project currently offers the GOtv and GOtv plus bouquets which are packed with exciting local and international changes designed to keep your family entertained with great news, kids programming and sports.

Mr Cecil said GOtv now provides a range of options to select from which are affordable, accessible and relevant to all television lovers.

The DVB-T2 technology means there is no need to replace or upgrade decoder. Once GOtv plus month is up, subscribers will then have option of continuing with either of the pay television options GOtv or GOtv Plus. ’’we at GOtv are constantly innovative to ensure that we continue to deliver the best of possible digital television to the people of Ghana,’’ GOtv director said. 

The Business Manager at GOtv in-charge of Africa, Kingsley Winfred Afful, explained that the process of acquiring GOtv is easy and their agents have been trained to manage the decoders.

The northern regional minister, Bede Ziedeng who cut the sod for the official launch of GOtv commended management of GOtv for extending their services to the north and urged them to cover Upper East and Upper West regions. Mr Ziedeng said as society moves on, it must move with technology. He was delighted about the coming of GOtv into the region.

According to him, all the people in the region will be given a variety of TV platforms. He noted that no particular station will have the monopoly of providing the people with their services where people are compelled to stay on one platform.
