Gov’t presents street naming ICT equipment to the northern regional minister

Government has presented General Packet Radio Service (GPRS), a packet oriented Mobile Data Service (GPRS), Uninterrupted Power (UPS) Supply colour printers and computers to the northern regional coordinating council.

The northern regional minister, Mr Bede Ziedeng received the items on behalf Metropolitans, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) and the  town and country planning department.  

The items according to government will help the town and country planning department and the metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies to carry out the street naming project.

Deputy Local Government minister Baba Jamal made the presentation  after opening a day orientation workshop for district coordinating directors, engineers, planning officers and the municipal, metropolitan and district chief executives from the 26 MMDAs in the northern region.

Northern Regional Minister Bede Ziedeng on behalf regional coordinating council said he will personally supervise the use of the equipment to ensure the success of the project.

Mr Ziedeng said he will ensured that this important exercise is carry out to its logical direction so that the president directives that streets in Ghana  area named and addressed to at  the end of the day.  

The Regional Director of town and country planning, Sylvester Gyoglowu thanked government and assured that his outfit will do its best to execute the project.

He said he believed with the ICT equipment, their operations will be enhanced. Mr Gyoglowu added that with the regional minister behind them, they will take good care of the equipment and make maximum used it to the benefit of the people in the region.
