The Convention Peoples Party (CPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Kumbungu, Amadu Moses Yahaya has donated 8 generators to 7 divisional chiefs and the paramount chief for the Kumbungu traditional area.
The generators worth 8 thousand Ghana cedis are expected to help provide 24 hour electricity for the palaces as well as served as an alternative power any time there is power outage.
The beneficiary chiefs included the Zogu-lana, Dalun-lana, Gbelung-lana, and Singlana. Others rest are Zagbalun-lana Vogu-Naa and the Kumbungu-Naa Alhaji Iddrissu Abu II. The Kumbungu MP who is just 75 days in parliament as the legislature underscores the importance role said traditional plays in the society and the security at the various palaces should taken serious.
The Kumbungu MP also a number of development projects and initiatives currently going in the constituency including construction of six unit class room block for the Kumbungu senior high school, construction of Zugu Bridge and the work on Sakuba-Dalun port-holes which can now be described as manholes.
On health, Hon. Moses Yahaya expressed worried over the increasing cases of stroke in the constituency and assured that he is liaising with a friend who will provide medical equipments to help reduce stroke or hypertensions cases.
The Kumbungu constituency secretary of the CPP, Nabila Alhassan Bashiru on behalf of the executives thanked the MP for efforts in just few days in parliament.
Mr Bashiru assured that the executives will work to maintained him in parliament come 2016 general elections. Hon. Moses Amadu Yahaya became the Member of Parliament for Kumbungu after the resignation of the NDC Member of Parliament Alhaji Mohammed Mumuni who took the up the position as secretary general of African Caribbean and Pacific Group of States on May 14, 2013.
