Patriotic Club of the New Patriotic Party in Tamale has commended Dr. Mahamudu Bayumia on his nomination as running mate to Nana Akufo Addo.
A statement issued in Tamale also thanked the flagbearer for once again reposing confidence in Dr. Bawumia and pledged its support for the ticket.
The statement signed by its secretary Mohamed Amin said the same ticket in 2008 gave the NPP the lead in the first round with over a hundred thousand votes and hopes the repeat of the Bawumia Nana ticket will secure victory for the party.
The statement declared ’’No party has ever retained a running mate in the history of this country after losing an election. Patriotic Club has therefore recognized this development as a positive move towards NPP’s vision of rebuild, reflect and recapture Dr Bawumia’s track record in the field of economies”.
The statement called on the people of the north and Ghanaians as a whole to endorse the vice presidential candidature of Dr. Bawumia by voting massively for the NPP.
