Pay attention to children nutrition needs-Nestle Ghana urges parents
Nestle Ghana Limited, a leading health and wellness company has encouraged parents in the Northern Region to pay special attention to the nutritional needs of their children.
Nestle Ghana is not happy that most parents because of their busy schedules left their children’s nutritional needs hanging, and that, it will do all it could to address nutritional deficiency confronting the Ghanaian child.
As part of the company’s effort to address the problem, Nestle Ghana has designed an educational program dubbed; ‘NIDO Nutrition Day’ to educate selected basic schools across Ghana to encourage them on the importance of nutrition health and wellness.
So far, 14 basic school pupils and their parents out 18 targeted have been sensitized by nutritionist and officials of Nestle on importance of iron vitamin C, and calcium which most Nestle products contained.
The Marketing Service Manager of Nestle Ghana limited Anita Ansu-Gyamfi was speaking to Zaa News after the company educated pupils and parents of Tamale International School in Tamale in Northern Region on child nutrition on the maiden edition of NIDO Nutrition Day.
Parents and their children were quizzed on balance diet and ingredients that help in good health body development and growth. Nestle, according to Anita was collaborating with the Ghana Education Service for recommendations of schools in the regions the team visit.
The Nestle marketing service manager hinted that the company will soon reach out to rural communities in the country to meet their nutritional needs.
A parent at the Tamale International School, Hajara Sambo was adjudged winner of five hundred Ghana Cedis (GH¢500) prize for the quiz competition.
She thanked Nestle Ghana for encouraging parents to prioritize their children nutrition. She also urged parents to have more time for their children wellbeing to enable them grow up with healthy minds.
