A 30-year-old man, Abudu Mohammed is in the grips of the Northern Regional police for allegedly murdering a pregnant woman and taking her clitoris and pubic hairs for rituals.
The deceased, Amina Mahamadu, a Fulani by extraction was on her way to antenatal care from Gyemtto village to board a vehicle to Abrumase in the East Gonja district for pontoon en route to Yeji when the suspect offered her a lift.
According to the police, the suspect instead of assisting the pregnant woman get to her destination rather sent her to a bush and carried out his dastardly act.
The suspect through police interrogation confessed and that he did it to fortify himself without pit collapsing on him so that he could prospect the Gold
which has been discovered in the area.
Public Relations Officer of the Northern Regional Police Command, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh told Zaa News the suspect was provisionally charged for muder by the Salaga district court and will reappear on 29th July, 2015.
