Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Real Tamale United Abu Nurideen on behalf of the club, has filed a Law suit against one of its Board Members, Alhaji Alhassan Alolo over alleged embezzlement.
Also in the suit is Fidelity Bank for allegedly flouting the banking Laws of Ghana. Alhaji Alolo, father of former RTU Captain Tawfiq Alolo was served a notice to appear before the Tamale High Court on the 24th of January, 2012.
ย Alolo who is also a founding member of RTU allegedly embezzled an amount of 36000 dollars belonging to the club.
The said amount was paid to RTU by cheque by telecommunications giant clobacom being part of sponsorship package for the 2010/2011 Ghana Premier league season.
According to the club, the cheque was paid into a different account at Fidelity Bank in Tamale instead of the Clubโs account at ADB.
Meanwhile Fidelity Bank has also been served a notice to appear before the High Court for allegedly flouting the banking laws of Ghana.
According to a letter addressed to the bank intercepted by Zaa Sports, the said amount was in the form of cross cheque which demanded a resolution letter to be signed by the Board Chairman and the Director of Finance of RTU, amongst other conditions.
All these formalities, according to RTU, were overlooked by the bank hence flouting the banking rules of Ghana. RTUโs quest of playing in the top flight next season could come crashing if they fail to mobilize funds for the team.
The club is faced with some financial difficulties following the withdrawal of their head lines sponsor, Wienco Ghana Limited. ]]>
