SOS from Sharatu Fuseini; heart patient

Parents of 46 years old Sharatu Fuseini has appealed to individuals and philanthropists to assist her pay for the treatment of her heart surgery.

Doctors at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital say she had evaluation including a 2-D colour Doppler Echocardiogram and has been diagnosed as having a severe defect of one of her heart valves, namely   Mitral Valve Stennosis.

Further management of her condition according to the doctors will involve open-heart surgery to correct the defect.  

For the treatment of the defect, Sharatu Fuseini needs to pay twenty-eight thousand Ghana cedis (28,000) for the surgery, anaesthesia, and intensive care and ward stay.

Of the amount, the Ghana Heart Foundation is assisting with 50 percent of the cost and Sharatu is therefore required to pay fourteen thousand Ghana cedis (14,000).

A letter signed by Dr Innocent Adzamli on behalf of the director of National Cardiothoracic Center (NCTC),  Dr Lawrence Sereboe and copy to Zaa News said, Sharatu also has a 2-Dcolour Doppler Echocardiogram which need agent attention.
