Tamale Dakpema summons parents of leak sex pictures; demands two bulls for gods

The Chief of Tamale, Naa Mohammed Alhassan Dawuni has expressed his shock and disappointment about the sex videos and pictures of a young man and a number of ladies currently on social media in the country.

He has also decided to invoke the wrath of the gods of Dagbong on the victims involved in the act describing it as most unfortunate.

The Dakpemah also hinted that he will crack the whip on persons involved in the leaked sex scandal.

The leak nude pictures and videos went viral on social media through Facebook and WhatAspp about a week before the end the 2014 holy month of Ramadan.

Muslim clerics upon hearing it condemned it and called on young ladies in Tamale to desist from such immoral acts or suffer the consequences.

The embarrassment brought against them and their families has led to some of the victims fleeing Tamale.

Addressing journalist on the matter at his palace, the chief said he has summoned families of the victims to appear before elders to answer questions as well as perform purification rites to appease the land and gods of Dagbong for the disgrace brought to the town.

The Secretary to the Dakpemah, Mohammed Abdul Rashid told Zaa News in an interview that the purification of the gods will require two bulls and sheep among others to initiate and perform the purification exercise.

They are to present a black and white bulls, black for pacifying the gods against evil things and white one to ask for prosperity for the land as well as some sheep for Malams to recite the Qur’an.

He lamented the efforts of the chief to bring development to the area through tourism and sanitation was being eroded by this shameful act and called on residents to be law abiding for development to thrive.

Parents of the girls involved in the leaked sex tape have up to Monday August 4, 2014 to respond.

He explained that as a traditional ruler, he is concerned about any acts that will anger the gods in the Tamale metropolis. Some residents spoke to Zaa News called for stiffer punishment for those engaged in the act.

Meanwhile, police in the northern region have launched investigations into what is now known as ’’ the Tamale sex scandal’’.
