A cross section of Dagbon Youth has applauded the President, Nana Akufo-Addo, for giving the Chief of Savelugu, Naa Bakpem Yoo-Naa Andani Yakubu Abudulai V an opportunity to serve on the Ghana National Petroleum Cooperation (GNPC) board. They say Yoo-Naa’s appointment is significant to the Dagbon Traditional Council and the people of the area.
The youth, who paid a courtesy call on the Yoo-Naa at his palace over the weekend, say the decision of the president is a major step towards the Dagbon Traditional Council’s empowerment, with direct implications for broader engagement of the chiefs in national decision-making.
They notes although there is more room for improvement, the youth sees this as a good gesture by the president towards the chiefs of Dagbon. The Youth are confident the Yoo-Naa will work to exceed expectations and bring to bear, his vast experience in the forward match of GNPC.
Naa Bakpem Yoo-Naa Andani Yakubu Abdulai who was elated to see the youth together reiterated his commitment towards the development of the people of Dagbon. He said there is the need for Dagombas, particularly the youth to strive for good roads, educational and health facilities, Agricultural inputs among hosts of developmental projects. He urged the youth to remain united and eschew any form of violence to ensure there is peace that will bring about development in Dagbon
