The District 2 ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John International under the auspices of the Tamale Grand Commandery & Auxiliary held yet another remarkable and spirit-filled week celebration.
The week-long celebration which was under the theme, “The Lady Auxiliary and the Spirit of forgiveness”, began on Monday, 9th May, 2022 and was climaxed in a grand style on Sunday 15th May, 2022 with a thanksgiving Mass at the OLA Cathedral in Tamale which saw scores of ladies from all seven (7) Auxiliaries in the District in a colorful attendance.
Speaking at the climax, the Joint District Chaplain, Very Rev. Fr. (1st Lt.) Carolus Gambogi, admonished brothers and sister to be magnanimous in their criticism of the priest and religious of the church and defend them at all times just like the other churches do.
Gracing the occasion were the following senior officers from the 13th District Commandery:
- Brigadier General Anthony Baissana, Past Tamale Grand President
- Brigadier General (Nana) Ernest Konadu, Past Tamale Grand President
- Colonel Joseph S. Bapule, immediate Past 13th District Commander/2nd Vice Tamale Grand President
- Rev Fr. (Lt.) Pierre Songre, Tamale Grand Chaplain
- Very Rev. Fr. (Lt.) Carolus Magnus Gambogi, 13th District Chaplain/Cathedral Administrator
Also, in attendance were Noble Sisters Esther Konadu, Past Tamale Grand Ladies Auxiliary President, Mary Dan Braimah Asobayire, Tamale Grand Ladies Auxiliary President, Faustina Dery, District 2 President, Lucy Ebkang, host Auxiliary President (OLA # 344) including the various Auxiliary Respected Presidents in the District.
The celebration was marked with exciting, interactive sessions and educative talks on carefully selected, thought-provoking topics delivered by a host of seasoned and experienced personalities. These topics centered on the reparation of the Ladies Auxiliary.
The Ladies as part of their week celebration made a generous donation of food items, detergents and toiletries worth GH₵ 3,000.00 to the Sisters of Mary Immaculate (SMI) of the Our Lady of Annunciation (OLA) Parish in Tamale.
It is worth noting that the District 2 ladies Auxiliaries of the Knights of St. John International since their inauguration in the Tamale Archdiocese have made significant impact, serving in almost every department of the church. Their unflinching support for their male counterparts (the Knights) is evidence of their submissiveness as good Christian wives and mothers.
