Modern Star Integrated School, a private basic school in Tamale has made a giant stride with distinctions by improving significantly in the 2021 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) result.
It scored 100 percent with all eight (8) candidates presented for the examination getting distinctions. The least aggregate is twelve (12) with the highest being aggregate seven (7).
This is the fourth consecutive time the school scores 100 percent in the BECE since its establishment in.
Modern Star Integrated School-Tamale is a premium Basic boarding school established to serve the educational needs of students and parents in the Northern part of the country.
The school runs as a boarding school from basic 1 to basic 6 and JHS 1 to JHS 3. It also runs the approved GES curriculum complemented by a variety of teaching and learning resources from the British Curriculum and with a plethora of exciting and educative co-curricular programmes.
Head teacher of Modern Star Integrated School, Mr Bismarck Soyiri in an interview congratulated the students for their sterling performances.
According to him, despite the challenges COVID-19 presented to the education sector coupled with the crucial moment of preparing the pupils for the BECE in 2021 in the midst of the pandemic, they were able to defy all the odds to make the school proud with their sterling performances.
He said Modern Star Integrated School is a “home away from home” where we shoulder parent’s complete burden and responsibility of grooming their kids. “We ensure the total discipline and moral uprightness of your wards through our consistent moral teachings and counseling sessions” he added.
Since its inception, the school has made several progresses in their academics especially the BECE results with an improvement each year.
Outlining the modalities, the school had put in place to address individual student challenges, Mr. Bismarck said academic counseling and mentorship programmes takes center stage in the school’s extra-curriculum programme which ensures discipline and character transformation.

She used the opportunity to appeal to parents to pay their ward’s school fees on time to enable the school pay its teachers to help maintain the high standards always.
