The Ghana Water company limited (GWCL) is seeking God’s intervention to protect the company from being consumed by raging floods in northern Ghana.
The company has therefore appealed to residents in the Northern region to pray for Allah’s mercies on their machines at Nawuni Raw water intake point.
The company said the continue rising of water level as a result of the spillage of Bagre Dam in Burkina Faso and the continue rains threatings their machines and equipment.
The River level according to GWCL was above the 36 feet safety standard and almost about flooding the pumps.
The company said if the situation continues, they will be compel to stop production to save their pumps and motors.
Northern Regional Communications Manager of GWCL, Mr Nii Abbey told Zaa News that the people in the Northern region, especially the religious leaders must include the safety of water treatment plant in their prayers.
Several houses in Nawuni has been submerge since Friday compelling the fisher folks to relocate to high lands. Overseas communities such as Singa, Afa Yili among others have been cut off.
