The overlord of Dagbon, Ndan Ya Na Mahama Abukari II has advised the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) and the Electoral Commission(EC) to quickly move into Peace mode and roll out messages as soon as practicable before December 7th general elections.
Nda Ya Na said the two bodies need to expedite action in exercising their mandatory duties quickly because there is a seemingly rising political temperature fueled by the various political parties.
The overlord gave the advice when the Chairman of Jospong Group of Companies called on him at the Gbewaa palace.
The Dagbon overlord also reminded practitioners that they have a herculean responsibility ahead of them during this year’s elections.
Ndan Yaa Naa said media practitioners have dual role to play in promoting the peace campaign movement as well as playing their key watchdog role.
The overlord urged political parties’ followers to demonstrate tolerance and accept different views during their campaign.
