UDS student battles for her life in hospital after attack

IMG-20151029-WA0019 A student of the Wa campus of the University of Development Studies who was attacked Monday by unknown assailants is fighting for her life at the Wa regional hospital, reports said.

The student identified as Zenab Kalid, an integrated development studies major, suffered cutlass wounds and had her purse containing an unspecified amount of money and identity cards stolen.

A colleague of the victim, Kwasi Osman told Zaa Radio that the incident occurred at about 11:00 p.m. as she walked home from a birthday party thrown by a friend. A report was immediately made to the Upper West Regional Police, Osman added.

Lately, students of the Wa campus of UDS returning home from lectures have been the targets of attacks by criminals who either snatch their laptops or motorbikes at gun point.
