A 30-year-old man was, in the early hours of Thursday morning, found in a pool of blood at the School of Hygiene junction on the Tamale-Bolgatanga trunk road, reports said. The victim, Mohammed Abukari, suffered multiple machete wounds.
Abukari who managed to speak to Zaa news narrated how he was found in that bloody mess. He said the previous night he had travelled to Savelugu from Tuutingli in Tamale where he stays in one M ma Samata’s house after he came back home from Kumasi. On his return from Savelugu, he added, a group of three men attacked and injured him bolting away with his Combian motorbike.
However, onlookers at the scene denied the assertion and allegedly attributed the victim’s plight to him being a thief. Onlookers wanted to lynch Abukari but the timely intervention and rescue by the Ghana Ambulance service who responded to a Zaa Radio's phone call about the incident, saved him from instant death.
