imageGovernment has dismissed social media reports that sought to suggest that the president John Dramani Mahama has made a second reshuffle of his ministers. Reports from the social media especially WhatsApp platform suggested that, Employment and Labour Relations minister Haruna Iddrisu, and Finance and Economic Planing minister Seth Terkper were both relieved of their positions. The purported statement allegedly signed by the Chief of Staff among other things said; the President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Dr. Sipa Yankey  Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Gas Company as the Minister designate for Finance and Economic Planning.

According to the ‘false ‘statement the President also made the following changes:

1. Dr. Spio Garbrah-Foreign Affairs Ministry

2. Hon. Hannah Tetteh-Ministry of Gender and Social Protection

3. Hon. Lee Ocran -Labour and Employment Ministry.

4. Hon. Kwesi Awhoi-Defence Ministry

5. Hon. John Jinapor-Ministry of Power.

The statement also thanked Hon. Haruna Iddrisu (MP), Hon. Benjamin Kunbour (MP) and Hon. Seth Tepker for their wonderful contribution to the government and wish them well.

But a press statement from the Flagstaff House has denied any such statement, saying it has not issued such statement. “Kindly ignore a list of new ‘appointees’ making rounds via WhatsApp platforms. The Office of the President has issued no such statement. It said all statements are first issued via the official address and posted on the Flagstaff House Facebook Page.”
