Over 400 names suspected to be members of opposition New Patriotic Party and others party’s have been deleted from the Kumbungu constituency voter register after four aspirants raised concerns over bloating the register.
The issue was resolved at the regional NDC party office in Tamale in the presents of all the five aspirants.
One of the aspirants, Abdulai Baba Ibrahim told Zaa News they have detected other opposition parties members names in the register during the exhibition exercise and demanded for their removal. Voting is expected to start at 12 noon.
Security has been beef up in the constituency as a result of tension that was mounting in the area.
