Concerned Youth of the National Democratic Congress have condemned the attack on the Party’s Regional Chairman, Chief Awudu Sofo Azorka over the appointment of a Regional Youth Entrepreneurial Agency (YEA) Co-ordinator.
The youth described the attack by some youth groups which challenged chairman Azorka of taking sides as uncalled for. The concerned NDC youth maintain that chairman Azorka as the head of the party does a lot consultations with party elders on any decision he wants to take.
Earlier this week, two ‘sponsored’ youth groups exchanged harsh words over the appointment of Iddrisu Tanko Computer as the YEA coordinator. The Gbewaa Youth who launched the attack on Azorka accused him of denying their candidate the position.
But the concerned NDC youth said chairman Azorka has never shown bias in dealing with issues of the party, adding that any attempt either within the NDC or other political parties to bring his name into dispute will not be tolerated.
A statement signed by Mohammed Imoro Baba-Chairman and Ahmed Rahim said Chairman Azorka will not do anything that will not inure to the benefit of the party in the region and warned all youth groups to desist from dragging the chairman’s name into issues he has no hands in. They stated that as chairman, Chief Azorka has the right to know who is best for an agency such as YEA, which makes jobs available for the youth.The YEA coordinator, the youth said, is regarded as the General Mosquito of the north, in terms of defending the NDC. he should be applauded for creating job opportunities instead of raising unnecessary and baseless accusations.
