The Zongo community in the Tatale/Sangule constituency of the northern region has congratulated President Akuffo Addo on his appointment of Boniface Abubakari Sadiqque as Minister designate for Inner Cities and Zongo Development.

It also called on the minister designate to bring his rich experience and vast commitment to the development, prosperity, success and progress of Zongo communities. Zongo communities, the group bemoaned, have been neglected for far too long.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Tatale Zongo Chief, Alhaji Inusah Sittu Damballe IV, Tatale Chief Imam, Musah Sani, the community Secretary Ramat Issahak and the Public Relations Officer (PRO) and copied to Zaa News.

The  community drew the attention of the minister designate to problems they face which include extreme deprivation, low level of education, high unemployment, rural–urban migration, poor health and sanitation among others, and urged him to expedite action to ensure improved education, health, development and the well-being of the people of Tatale Zongo community.

They have therefore declared their support to the Nana Akuffo Addo administration to ensure that the government’s policy directives and initiatives aimed to uplift the standard of life in the Zongo communities nationwide are achieved.

If approved by the appointment committee of Ghana’s parliament, the former northern regional minister under president Kufour, Alhaj Siddique will have his hands full with the numerous problems confronting the over 365 zongo communities in Ghana.
