Inspector General of Ghana Police arrives in Bunkpurugu
The Acting Inspector General of the Ghana Police Service, COP John Kudalor has arrived in the troubled town of Bunkpurugu in the northern region to assess the security situation after 35 houses were burnt in renewed ethnic chieftaincy clashes between rival factions, the Jamong and the Jafouk. The clashes claimed three persons lives, authorities said.
The high powered security chiefs who are currently meeting the District Security Committee (DISEC) include, Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Osman Salifu, Chenekbowura , Director General in-charge of operations, COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, head of formed Unit, superintendent Hamza Yakubu, and the Northern Regional Police Commander, DCOP Ken Yaboah and his Deputy ACP Ayirifi.
