Buipewura to Lead Sanitation Campaign.

The Paramount Chief of Buipe traditional area, Bupeiwura Abdulai Mahama Jinapor II has given a strong assurance to lead all his sub-chiefs and their subjects in the National Sanitation exercise scheduled for Saturday February 7th 2015 at Buipe and it surrounding communities. 
As a result, the Chief has canceled his routine medical review for this week in order  to take part fully in the national sanitation day exercise. 
According to Buipewura Jinapor II, he  is ready to equal or exceed the commitment the Asantehene Osei Tutu II put up in Kumasi when the  national sanitation day was officially launched in Ashanti Region. 
The Bupeiwura therefore warned all residents in Central Gonja District to come out and clean their environment or face his wrath.  The Buipe Chief who gave the warning during a courtesy call on him by the Local government minister,  Debra at his palace in Buipe in the central Gonja district, said that only the extremely sick persons will be spared on the day of the exercise.
 Buipewura also promised to invoke bees to sting anyone who deliberately refuse to take part in the exercise. 
On the other hand, Buipewura Jinapor commended the government for the numerous developmental projects spread across the district and the Northern Region in general. He assured the government of his commitment to sustain the peace of the area to facilitate development. The   chief also appealed to government to absorb the senior high schools in Central Gonja area. The Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Julius Debra in the company of the Northern Regional. Minister, Alhaji Mohammed Muniru. Limuna commended the Buipewura for his commitment to peace and development of the  central Gonja District. 
He urged the people to show keen interest in the forth coming district level elections and come out in their numbers to vote for people of substance who could selflessly meet their development aspirations. 
Mr. Debra said that local governance required the full participation of the people to ensure accountability and accelerated development.

The local Government Minister appealed to the Chiefs of the region to fully take charge of the National Sanitation initiative and to ensure that it was sustained in every community. 
A day before the visit to Buipe, Mr. Debra and his entourage visited the offices of the various political parties including the New Patriotic Party, National Democratic Congress and the Convention People's Party among others to officially inform their leadership about the need for them to come out with their supporters to participate in the clean up campaign. 
The Minister made the party executives to be ware of the fact they owed it a duty to seek the health of their people for the sustenance of their parties. “Should there be an outbreak of diseases, we all know that it will not affect members of one political party alone because sickness does not know the colors of NPP, NDC or PPP”'
He also called on the various Imams and Clergies asking them to also woo their members to come out on Saturday to clean their communities. 
Mr. Debra also called on the Northern Regional Police and Military Commands to officially invite them and their staff to be part of the exercise.
All the Commanders strongly affirm their commitment or readiness to fully participate in the exercise on Saturday. 
The Local Government Minister as part of his visit is also inspecting developmental projects being executed by the government in the various districts, municipal and metropolitan assemblies. In Tamale Metropolis, Mr. Debra inspected the Tamale Social Housing Project, the Tamale International Airport project, the Aboabo and Tamale Central Market projects. He also inspected school, market, road, water and health facilities under construction in the Central Gonja, Bole, Sawla-Tuna-Kalba and the West Gonja Districts of the Northern Region.
