Cleanness is an individual matter- N/R caucus leader

The leader of Northern Caucus in Ghana’s parliament, Alhaji Amadu Seidu, has charged the people in the northern region to keep the environment tidy at all times. According to him, a lot of foreign investors have shown interest in Ghana as a result of the country’s political stability Ghanaians have been able to achieve and the environment needs to be clean.

The Yapei-Kusawgu constituency legislature told journalists in Tamale that tourism industry have increased and the level of economic development in the country are all contributing factors wooing in investors.

He said it would be sad if investors come and the environment is filthy. It does not auger well for us he added. Alhaji madu Seidu who has been in parliament since 1992 said the MPs would take part in the exercise and expect their constituents to do same on Saturday February 7, 2015.

The interest is so much in the hearts and minds of people outside Ghana and pleaded with everyone particularly those at the district level. “I don’ think that we should go and look for loans before we can have a capacity to clean our environment; theses are matters that can be handled locally and people must make local commitment’’ the Caucus leader appealed.

Alhaji Amadu Seidu, said his colleagues in parliament would be in their various constituencies to take part in the exercise with passion.

He said cleanness is an individual matter and should not be left solely to government or officials of the various assemblies.

The Yapei-Kusawgu MP reiterated that, a disease does not discriminate and knows no political party member when it strikes in any society.

The Yapei-Kusawgu MP emphasized that the exercise is not a one-day event and the national exercise was to introduce the people and appealed to the people in the region to make the clean-up exercise be part and parcel of their daily lives.
