The Bimbilla constituency office of the National Democratic Congress was this morning set on fire as protesters continued their show of disapproval over the ruling that Naa Andani Dasana Abdulai is the new Bimbilla chief.
The judicial committee of the northern region house of chiefs on Tuesday ruled that Naa Andani Dasana was the rightful claimant to the Bimbilla skin.
But supporters of Nakpaa-na Salifu Dawuni who lost out in the case have been protesting, citing political manipulation.
This morning some NDC supporters set fire on the NDC constituency office and threatened to quit the party.
Reports say police have picked up some of them but ZAA News is unable to tell how many have been arrested.
The Bimbilla chieftaincy crisis started eight years ago after the performance of the funeral of Na Abarika.
The two chiefs Nakpaa-na and the new Bimbilla Na Andani Dasana both belong to the Gbugma-yili gate.
One of the supporters of nakpaa-na Abdul Rauf Junayd accused the government of siding with the other faction but spokesperson of chief Andani Dasana, Bawa Alhassan Salifu said Bimbilla was calm and that the action of the youth was just to create the impression that all was not well.
