Saboba NDC youth demands dismissal of DCE

Aggrieved youth of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Saboba constituency in the Northern Region have called on the president, Jonh Dramani Mahma to remove the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area Adolf Ali John.

The youth said, if the President fails to relief the Saboba DCE of his post, they will leave the party. The youth also want the regional chairman of the NDC Chief Sofo Azoka to call both the DCE and the party’s member of parliament Bukari Nikpe Joseph to order or the party will loss massively in the Saboba constituency come 2016 general elections as some of the youth have shown preparedness to campaign against the NDC.

The fortunes of the NDC according to the youth has continued to dwindle since it won elections 2008 with a margin of 1300 votes to 676 votes in 2012.

At a news conference in Tamale, the aggrieved youth also accused the Saboba DCE and the MP of awarding contracts in the area among themselves in connivance of their cronies.

The DCE, the youth alleges surrounded himself with tags to terrorize anyone who complain about his behavior. A member of the communication team and leader of the aggrieved NDC in Saboba, Zechariah Ningnamoan Sandow who addressed the press also accused the DCE of nepotism and tribalism; he appealed to the NDC leadership to caution the DCE against such acts in the area.

According to Ningnamoan Sandow, people residing in zongo communities predominantly Moshis are threatening to leave the party because the DCE has described them as aliens who are intruding into native issues.

The statement also criticizes the DCE and the MP for sidelining the Saboba constituency chairman Robert Wajah in activities of the party and district which spell doom for the party if the regional leadership failed to sanction the Saboba DCE and the MP to order.

The Saboba NDC chairman Robert Wajah said he support the calls the DCE removal because he has no access to the party van and meetings are call without his knowledge.

When contacted, the Saboba DCE dismissed the allegations level against him. Mr Adolf Ali John said he has never sell contracts and that those who execute contracts bid and are awarded.

He explain that as DCE, he is the chairman of the tender board and that cannot misconstrue to mean selling contracts to his cronies. The DCE told Zaa News he has not surrounding himself with tags or ‘macho men’ and described any zongo community members who Moshis as aliens.
