Tamale deserves a neuro center

A consultant Neurosurgeon at the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) and a senior lecturer at the University for Development Studies (UDS) medical school, Dr Abass Adam has said that  it was not a privilege for Tamale to have a neuro center.

The neurosurgeon said Tamale deserved to be the best neuro center just like any other part of the country and that  motivated him to move from Accra to Tamale.

Dr Adam made this statement  when the Tamale Dakpema, Naa  Mohammed Alhassan Dawuni  paid a working visit to the hospital.

Dr Adam said he started the neurosurgery center after he relocated to Tamale. He said Tamale was the right choice for him since Accra already had enough specialists.

Dr Adam who left the Ridge hospital in Accra to come to Tamale said it is an honor for him to serve the people in northern Ghana.   Since 2009 students have stopped going to the south to complete their training, the neurosurgeon said.

The UDS medical School according to Dr Adam also provides training to a newly qualified medical officers, before they are certified to become medical doctors.

He advised and encouraged medical officers that they can make it here (northern region); and all what they need to do was to be serious and committed.

The UDS medical school since its inception in 2009 graduated its first batch of doctors in 2012 and two batches in 2013.
