The president of Northern Drama and Film Makers Association (NORDRAFIM), Abdulai Abdul Jalil has urged government to create jobs for the teaming unemployed youth in the region.
He said the rising unemployment situation across the country is stifling the youth of fully utilizing their skills and potentials, despite being the most vibrant and energetic in the society.
He noted associations like NORDRAFIM and Film Producers Association Of Ghana (FIPAG) were formed to provide jobs opportunities for the unemployed youth but need support from government to live up to their mandate.
Mr. Abdul Jalil said this in an exclusive interview with Zaa News during the launch of Dagbanli Cinema organized by NODRAFIM and FIPAG in partnership with Dagbanli Cinema. Dagbanli Cinema is an online Dagbanli Streaming Website and Mobile app that provides a platform for streaming Dagbanli movies.
The website is aimed at expanding access to dagbanli movies for enthusiasts of dagbanli movies both in Ghana and abroad. The website is also aimed at developing the dagbanli movie industry by protecting the copyright of producers.
Abdulai Abdul Jalil further implored government to make provisions for local movies to be played at the various embassies of Ghana in order to generate revenue to support the industry.
