The Public Health Department of the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) has organized a two day training workshop for frontline health workers on the recent outbreak of Coronavirus at the Tamale Teaching Hospital. The training is to check the preparedness of health workers in case of an outbreak of the virus as well as equip them with the requisite knowledge on how to protect themselves from contracting the virus.
A total of 40 health workers from various departments of the hospital are to be trained by the end of the workshop. They will be trained on the current trends of the virus, its mode of transmission, and how to prevent the spread of it.
Deputy Director of nursing services at the Tamale Central Hospital (TCH) William Abitor noted that the training was necessary to help health workers prepare towards the outbreak of the deadly virus in the country.
He also noted that, further trainings would be conducted in the hospital to equip more health workers with the requisite knowledge on the virus.
