imageThe Northern Regional Police Command has deployed over one thousand uniformed personnel to provide security at over 600 polling stations of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential and parliamentary primary elections tomorrow.

The command is also deploying plain-clothes men and detectives in the region. Skeletal staff at the district police command as well as fifty armed personnel will be on stand-by to respond quickly to distress calls and the exigencies of the day.

The police say they have the logistics and manpower to ensure an incident free internal elections of the NDC.

Public Relations Officer of the northern regional police command, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh told Zaa News that elaborate security plans are in place for tomorrow’s NDC election.

The police have also identified some flash-points in the northern region which are mainly concentrated in constituencies within the regional capital-Tamale. ASP Tetteh said the constituencies where stakes are high have also been put  under surveillance to prevent any unfortunate incident.
