The Northern Regional Executives of the NDC in consultation with the National Executive Committee (NEC) has postponed the vetting of parliamentary aspirants scheduled for tomorrow to the weekend.
The postponement was due to Thursday being declared a national holiday by the Interior ministry for the celebration of Eidl-Adha.
Vetting of the 120 aspirants was initially to start Wednesday, September 23, 2015 will commence on Saturday, 26 September, 2015. Aspirants from Bimbilla, Mion, Tolon, Kpandai Nalerigu,Yunyoo, Yendi Salaga south, Yapei/Kusawgu, Tata/Sanguli, Sagnarigu, Tamale South, Karaga, Saboba,Zabzugu and Wulensi are expect to be vetted. On Sunday, Bunkprugu,Tamale North, Savalegu, Walewale, Bole/Bamboi, Yagba/Kubori, Daboya-Mankari, Kumbungu, Chereponi, Gushegu, Tamale Central, Salaga North, Nanton and Damongo will have their term.
The NDC Northern Regional Treasury and director of elections, Iddrisu Abdul Rashid Tanko urged all aspirants not to go to the vetting grounds with their supporters.
Top party officials will head the vetting processes. The party’s General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia affectionately called General Mosquito will head the vetting process in the Upper East and Northern regions. Alhaji Hudu Yahaya will be in charge of Upper West and Brong Ahafo regions while Samuel Ofosu Ampofo heads Central and West Regions. The national organizer, Kofi Adams will head Ashanti and Eastern regions. All the committees will regroup in Accra and get divided into two to handle Accra and Volta regions.
