Former President John Dramani Mahama has also contributed a sum of 100,000 Ghana cedis to the Dagbon Development Fund. This donation is to support the reconstruction of the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi.
Meanwhile, the NDC as a party has also contributed a sum of 30,000 Ghana cedis to support the project.
This happened two days after John Mahama launched his campaign to recapture the post he held from 2012 to 2017, which was recently won by current President Nana Akufo-Addo.
He was seated in the auditorium in the Volta Region, a stronghold of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) party. During his campaign launch, Mahama argued that Ghana’s current situation requires a leader with experience and not experiment, and that Ghana needs a leader who will hit the ground running on 7 January 2025.
He believes that the country can attain these heights again and that it will lead by example.
