The electoral commission has declared the member of parliament for Tamale central and minister roads and highways Alhaji Inusah Fuseini as the winner after polls closed Saturday evening.
He polled 10,979 votes or 62.33% of the overall vote, Alhaji Ibrahim Seidu Engineer-5,676 or 33.6% of the vote and Alhassan Adam brought up the rear with 192 or 1.1 % of the tally. 155 ballots were rejected.
Meanwhile, one the contenders, Adam Alhassan has, in few hours to the formal declaration, conceded defeat and congratulated the incumbent for his resounding victory.
Mr Alhassan, a banker told Zaa News he was grateful to all those who help him in his campaign and the people of Tamale central constituency.
