Nine students have been graduated on Saturday at the Sky High Academy, one of the reputable basic schools situated at Kanvilli Tuunaayili in the Sagnarigu district of Tamale. The students have successfully graduated from kindergarten two (KG 2) to primary one (P 1).
The chairman for the occasion, Reverend Tahid Ayuba Elijah spoke with Zaa News on the significance of the second graduation of students of Sky High Academy and urged parents and guardians to send their children to school. Reverend Ayuba also asked parents to train their children to become good citizens tomorrow.
The Headmistress, Akele Esther, said the school from a humble beginning with six students, when it was established barely a year ago, can now boast of fifty students due to the excellent academic performance. Madam Esther on behalf of the entire staff and management of the school assured parents of the wellbeing of their wards. She, however, lamented the delay in payment of school fees by parents.
Activities carried out at the graduation were poetry recitals, singing lovely songs, reading competition, spelling competition, sack race, chair dance competition and dancing competition. Various awards were given to deserving students.
Abubakari Aziza emerged the overall best student with 89% receiving four reading books, three exercise books and one Creative Art book. Sulemana Samira, second runner up, scored 85% receiving four reading books and one Creative Art book.
The third position went to Laal Ezikiel with 69% taking home four reading books. The rest of the graduates took stationery materials as consolation prizes. The director of the school, Fuseini Abdul-Majeed, explained the secret behind the greatest success of Sky High Academy.
Mr Majeed, therefore, assured parents that the name of the school: “Sky High Academy” and its motto: “Promoting Personal and Social Values” would, indeed, remain the guiding principle.
